Suggested itineraries for WWII experiences in the Region

  • Book the WWII 4RSU Tour Pell Airstrip 8.30 -11.00am
    – includes morning tea
  • Drive 10km to Adelaide River War Cemetery
    – where the Cenotaph is surrounded by the fallen
  • Drop in at the Adelaide River Inn for lunch
    – menu specialty is ‘Fresh Caught Barra’ and the meal is delicious!
  • After lunch head to Batchelor and visit the Batchelor Museum
    – an interpretive museum with WWII history, local Aboriginal history and all about Rum Jungle
  • Wander through the Adelaide River Market
    – Sat, Sun and Mon 8.00am - 1pm in the Dry Season
  • Visit the Adelaide River Rail Museum - 1888
    – was the only station to provide a refreshment room on the North Australia line
